Following India’s Independence, the princely states of Rajputana were integrated to form the State of Rajasthan. To create a unified judicial system, the Rajasthan High Court Ordinance, 1949 abolished the separate High Courts of the former princely states and established a single High Court for Rajasthan. The High Court was formally inaugurated at Jodhpur on 29 August 1949 by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, with Justice Kamala Kant Verma becoming its first Chief Justice.
As the number of advocates practicing before the newly established High Court grew, the Rajasthan High Court Advocates’ Association (RHCAA) was formed to represent the interests of advocates practicing at the Principal Seat in Jodhpur. Since its inception, the Association has served as a representative body committed to protecting the professional rights of advocates, promoting ethical legal practice, encouraging legal education, and maintaining constructive cooperation with the judiciary and other legal institutions.
Over the decades, RHCAA has played an active role in issues concerning the legal fraternity, judicial reforms, advocates’ welfare, infrastructure development, and the preservation of the Principal Seat of the Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur. It regularly organizes seminars, legal discussions, welfare initiatives, and professional development program’s, while also representing the collective voice of advocates on matters of public and institutional importance.
